Sunny skies bore witness to an impressive maiden victory by Soldier Hollow’s Kasalla at Duesseldorf racetrack today. In a race for the derby crop, Kasalla and her jockey Adrie de Vries spared room along the rails over 2,100 m on soft going but dominated easily by more five lengths in the end, giving de Vries his third win on today’s card. Following the race, trainer Markus Klug shared his plans for the talented Roettgen-bred, pointing her to the Hoppegarten Diana-Trial in June and the German Oaks later in the year.
Kasalla is out of the Sternkönig-mare Kastila, the dam of the two successful Godolphin-horses Kassiano and Keep in Line.
