Wiedingen-bred Soldier Hollow son Wai Key Star delivered a scintillating performance in the 2,000 m group 3 Ittlingen Derby-Trial in Baden-Baden and, as a result, will most likely be found among the favorites for this year’s German Derby. At the end of a ground-saving ride, Eduardo Pedroza did not have to take to whip in earnest, since the colt quickly put a safe distance between himself and the field and rolled to a confident 2 3/4-lengths victory over the Roettgen favorite El Loco.
