He broke his maiden only in March this year, and after today’s awesome performance in the 181th running of the Oppenheim-Union (€70,000) —Germany’s most important derby trial—Wiedingen-bred Dschingis Secret will most likely move into the circle of co-favorites for this year’s German Derby!
Jockey Martin Seidl served the 217:10 long shot a picture-perfect race from off the pace. Entering the stretch, Seidl found room along the rails for the Soldier Hollow-son, and the colt was even the fastest horse in the last furlong of the 2,200 m group 2 challenge, though he could not catch the first two, Boscaccio (D. Schiergen) and El Loco (A. de Vries). Dschingis Secret is in training with Markus Klug for Horst Pudwill, who acquired the son of our Divya at the 2014 BBAG Yearling Sale. Our great Soldier Hollow now has three horses among the currently bookmaker-favored for the upcoming German Derby: Parthenius, Dschingis Secret and Wai Key Star, the latter two both grew up in our beautiful stud here at Park Wiedingen.
