It turned out more than a successful trial performance for the upcoming German Oaks in four weeks for DSCHINGIS SECRET's "little sister" DIANA STORM. Only an hour after her big brother's success, DIANA STORM entered the gates in the Grosser Preis von LOTTO Hamburg, a €55,000 G3 challenge for fillies of the derby crop, to emulate her brother. And even though she did not score the big point, her second place finish showcases the filly's constant improvement and hints at more to come still.
Jozef Bojko gave the Waldemar Hickst-trained Diana Storm a perfectly ground-saving trip along the rails where the filly showed irresistible speed down the stretch. Though she had to give in to the Schiergen-trained Lacazar, she was only 1 1/2 behind with both fillies well ahead of the main field. Diana Storms ticket for the German Oaks is therefore solidly booked and, of course, as breeders we can hardly wait for the race of the year for the ladies next month. |
