Last year's Horse Of The Year, DSCHINGIS SECRET, triumphed today in the 2400 m Grosse Hansa-Preis, thus repeating his success from last year in this prestigious group 2 challenge, which is held every year during the derby meet. The Wiedingen-bred colt by our champion sire SOLDIER HOLLOW benefited from a brilliant ride by Martin Seidl, who gave the five-year-old a great trip and took him into the decisive phase of the race along the inner rails. The pair shifted into a higher gear for the final attack and easily jumped ahead three quarters of a length while there was obviously still more in the tank!
The now six-time group winner DSCHINGIS SECRET is the firstling of our top-mare DIVYA, who is also responsible for the three-year-old DESTINO, who will be reaching for the stars in the same place in Germany's Derby next week.
