| Very close to a win came SON MACIA by SOLDIER HOLLOW in today's G3 Prix Fille de l'Air in Toulouse, France. The Andreas Suborics-trained mare was aiming for a new tactic in the €80,000 challenge for fillies and mares and took up the 2100 m trip with the lead under Mickael Barzalona, and it almost paid off for the consistent daughter of our champion sire. SON MACIA brought the pack into the final stretch where she fought gamely to defend the lead but had to give way to the massive late speed of the winner from the Abduallah stables close to the post. |
