WAI KEY STAR takes up stud duty in France

It is with great pleasure that we receive the news from Munich that WAI KEY STAR has ended his active career and will soon take up stud duty in the French Haras de Rosieres aux Salines.

A thoroughly genuine product of our Park Wiedinger breeding program, WAI KEY STAR is a son of our three-time Champion Sire SOLDIER HOLLOW out of the Danehill daughter WAKYTARA, whose offspring include the ten-time winner Wheredreamsare. WAI KEY STAR's unraced full sister WAMIKA has already produced a Champion2yo with her first product WHISPERING ANGEL and is one of the most promising prospects in our band of broodmares.

WAI KEY STAR spent his entire racing career competing in the colors of the Stall Salzburg for whom he finished in an excellent fourth place in the 2016 edition of the German Derby. The colt, who is known for his toughness, willingness to perform and great character, shone in his four-year lasting active career with many good performances, including three Gr.3 victories and last but not least a great second place in the Gr.1 Große Dallmayr-Preis last year. An emotional highlight was certainly his close win in the Gr.3 Preis der Sparkassen a few months ago in Baden-Baden. The joy of trainer Sarah Steinberg and jockey Sibylle Vogt, in whose two hearts WAI KEY STAR obviously occupies a special place, certainly left no eye dry.

The seven-year-old retires with a top GAG of 97 kg and will become the fourth stallion to represent his father's bloodline in France after PASTORIUS, DSCHINGIS SECRET and WELTSTAR. We wish him all the best and are already looking forward to his first offspring!
