SERIENHOLDE son runner-up in Gr.1 The Yasuda Kinen
Our three-time champion SOLDIER HOLLOW celebrated a nice success as a broodmare sire today, when the first product of German Oaks winner SERIENHOLDE (photo) finished second on Gr.1 level in Tokyo. And not just in any race, but in the €2.5 mio. The Yasuda Kinen at Tokyo, the second most valuable Gr.1 race over the mile according to the 2021 Longines Rating!

The offspring of the Wittekindshof bred SERIENHOLDE is aptly named SCHNELL MEISTER, and had the four-year-old Kingman colt found a passage sooner in the final straight, he probably would have won. As it was, he was stuck behind a pulk of horses until his jockey Christophe-Patrice Lemaitre found the hole with one furlong to go and thanks to the colt's incredible speed, the pair passed the post a head behind the winner.
