The SOLDIER HOLLOW colt LARK IN THE MORNIN made a winning debut in the Irish Listowel today. The two-year-old trained by Joseph O'Brien scored safely by a neck under Shane Cross over 1600 metres in easy style and certainly showed his talent. LARK IN THE MORNIN has a select pedigree, as he was bred at Ittlingen Stud out of the Lando mare Loyalty, who is a sister to Derby winner Lucky Speed. He was sold at the BBAG Yearling Sale and achieved the third highest price at the Breeze-Up Sale this April at Newmarket.
