Breeding schedule 2017: quality as far as the eye can see

While foaling season is well under way, plans for breeding are already in the making for the upcoming year.

Naturally, we will once again serve our champion SOLDIER HOLLOW with a solid set of mares from our stud farm. Soon, a suitable caravan will take off from our stud’s yard and head toward Auenquelle where the champion makes his home. Aboard will be, next to the proven partners WAKYTARA (Danehill), NAROOMA (Silver Hawk), DIVYA (Platini) and FLAMINGO SKY (Silver Hawk), some members of the younger generation, namely three daughters of champion sire Areion: PARADISE LIGHT , FLAMINGO ROSE and our 2yo-champion 2015 DHABA, who is facing her first breeding reason being the baby mare of the herd. Furthermore, NAGAYA (Monsun) will partner with Soldier Hollow once again, as well as WAMIKA (Shirocco) and the newcomer to the lot, the Monsun-daughter FUNFAIR, who gave birth to her first Wiedingen-foal, a beautiful colt by Soldier Hollow three weeks ago. Completing the lot will be FLAMINGO SKY (Silver Hawk).

For the first time, we will send mares to the Sharmadal-son AMARON, who has taken up breeding at Etzean Stud last year. While racing, the G1 winner impressed with precocity, toughness and great willingness to perform; as a pronounced miler, Amaron bears interesting potential for our existing dam lines. Visiting him will be FAIZEH (Soldier Hollow), DARSHANA (Sharmadal), PRETTY SMART (Law Society) and QUINTESSA (Shirocco), who just recently foaled after Soldier Hollow.

We will also support our own FLAMINGO FANTASY with one mare. Devastar’s dam, DEVA, will visit the striking chestnut in Trona Stud.

TOP MARES FOR SOLDIER HOLLOW

Our 2016 champion sire himself will cover a book of 88 high quality mares in the upcoming breeding season, among them Ittlingen’s LAURENCIA (Shirley Heights), SEXY LADY (Danehill) and the dam of Derby winner Lucky Speed, LYSUNA (Monsun). More prominent names are added to the list by Roettgen Stud: ALASKAKÖNIGIN (Sternkönig), ELORA (Alkalde) and WELL AMERICAN (Bertrando), the dam of 2016 2y-champion filly WELL SPOKEN, who is also by Soldier Hollow.

The champion’s homestead, Auenquelle, added some top names to the list as well. Vif Monsieur’s dam VIVE MADAME (Big Shuffle) will partner Soldier Hollow as well as the great REINE GALANTE, TURFBLUME, DARING ART and GLOBAL BEAUTY. SALONTASCH, KARAVEL, SALVE ESTELLE and SALVE REGINA are more names sounding sweet to every breeder’s ear and let us anticipate the coming years with great curiosity sparked with pride and love for everything this stallion has done for us and horse racing in Germany and beyond.
