The son of our top mare WAKYTARA by Soldier Hollow, WAI KEY STAR, finished the €55,000 G3 Holstein-Cup today as a very solid runner-up. Last year's fourth-placed in the derby ran a great race, jumped to the lead in the deep stretch but had no answer to the scintillating late attack of the Kleinkorres-trained Machtwinner. Eduardo Pedroza was aboard the colt for trainer Andreas Woehler and Salzburg Stables.
Our very own DEVASTAR (Areion - Deva), winner of the 2016 G3 Preis der deutschen Einheit, finished fourth with Martin Seidl in the saddle.
